In 2024, China Business Event Industry Committee(CBEIC) joined Meeting Industry Council (JMIC) as a new member on behalf of China.

In order to actively participate in the governance of the global meeting industry, CCPIT-CSC and CBEIC support the Global Meeting Industry Net Zero Carbon Initiative, jointly initiated by JMIC and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. After research, aiming to integrate the international standardization work of meetings and events on its net zero carbon events, and promote the mutual coordination and advancement,Chinese taskforce was  established. It has received strong support from the industry, and several task teams corresponding to professional fields have set-up , such as venue energy, food and food waste, freight and logistics, intelligent construction and waste management, travel and accommodation, measurement methods and carbon offset, as well as data collection and outcome reports.

The Macao International Environmental Cooperation and Development Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) collaborates with JMIC, the International Trade and Standards Cooperation Organization (ODCCN), and the China taskforce for NZCE in the Global Meeting Industry. New actions have been taken:

1. The Macau Trade and Exhibition Association (MFTA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the JMIC Global Convention Industry Net Zero Carbon Activities (NZCE) Institute.

2. Signing ceremony for the membership of the Macao Low-Carbon Development Association in the International Trade and Standards Cooperation Organization (ODCCN).

3. Ceremony for the Signing of the Agreement for the "Collecting of Best Practice of NZCE in China.

 

MFTA has actively introduced the training of JMIC's Global Meeting Industry NZCE, striving to reach international standards in green event design and comprehensive management. This is ensuring the management of NZCE, preventing the occurrence of green barriers, promoting the development of NZCE in the Greater Bay Area.
