On March 20, 2018, the China Business Event Industry Committee (CBEIC) was established in Shanghai, and more than 400 people from the relevant associations of the meeting and event industry, convention bureau, tourism bureau, PCO ,convention centers and hotels, event suppliers and airlines attended the founding ceremony.

China Business Event Industry Committee, CCOIC-CCC is a non-governmental, non-profit institutional platform established by the China Chamber of International Commerce, Commercial Chamber of Commerce and related enterprises, social organizations and institutions for industry cooperation. Members include China national associations， influential MICE companies, think tanks, research institutes, colleges and universities and other institutions, and industry professionals in charge of various organizations, and famous scholars as consultant’s members. CBEIC is a member of Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC).

CBEIC is a collection of China meeting and event industry resources, with 2,300 executives of China's national industry associations, over 5,000 purchasing managers of foreign companies and state-owned enterprises, over 4,000 leaders of China's meeting and exhibition industry such as tourism bureaus, convention and exhibition bureaus, convention centers and hotels, PCOs and DMCs. IT provides the following business areas for the meeting industry.

According to the "Opinions on Deepening the Reform of Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on April 13, 2026, non-profit organization platforms can set up the following types of units: member units, director units, and executive director units. Member recruitment is standardized.

1.Joining principles: voluntary application, equal negotiation, review and confirmation, freedom of entry and exit.

2.Legal form: signing a joint construction / cooperation agreement, clarifying rights and responsibilities, resources, achievements, and division of labor.

3.Standardized titles: member units, director units, executive director units, joint construction units, cooperation units.

Approval requirements:

Internal approval, filing, and supervision responsibilities shall be fulfilled by the entity relying on the legal person.

Permitted activities:

Forums, seminars, exhibitions, results exhibitions, technical exchanges, industry matchmaking, standard research, consulting services, training exchanges, results promotion.

Activity positioning:

Public welfare, communication，service，academic, industrial, non-regulatory.

Funding and Income Regulations:

1.Special funding support from the initiating/establishing unit

2.Government research projects, program funds, government purchase of services

3.Service compensation income (planning, execution, consultation, training, technical services, exhibition services)

4.Voluntary sponsorship from cooperating units, joint support, resource investment

5.Legal income from research/technology/technology transfer

6.Special funds for university-enterprise cooperation, project funds for industry-academia integration

7.Other legally compliant income

Mandatory requirement:

All funds must be deposited into the corporate bank account of the legal entity, with legal invoicing, legal tax payment, dedicated use of funds, and transparency.

Governance and Management Standards:

1.The highest governance basis is the cooperation / joint construction agreement.

2.Major matters are decided through consultation and decision-making by the initiating unit and the co-construction unit.

3.Financial regulations, process documentation, complete contracts, and auditable records.

CBEIC adheres to the principles of joint construction, protocolization, voluntary participation, no membership fees, non-profit status, no overstepping of authority, and no coercion. It fully complies with national policy guidelines and serves as an important platform for promoting industrial innovation, resource integration, technological progress, and high-quality development.
